Snowdrop/Galanthus

Another sign of spring... Cool!
These are just a few snowdrops in my garden.
Hopefully I will find a carpet of them behind my backyard.

Project gardening - Flower baskets

As the weather is getting warmer, I've decided to start planting some flowers in the baskets.
These baskets will be kept indoor till it is time to be placed outdoor in a few week's time.
Hopefully these flowers will look more beautiful by then.

Hmm... will they survive for another few more weeks?

Olive

We've received this cute little olive plant from my sister-in-law and family a few weeks ago.
Look! It is growing small olives now. WOW! Incredible!

They are growing like wild fire... holycow!
With this speed, I think I can enjoy a bowl of home grown salad pretty soon. :)

Time flies and I've forgotten to sow the seeds in February.
I hope I still get to taste some salad by the end of spring. *fingers crossed*

Ice is melting - part 2

The temperature has reached 10 Celcius today.
The ice block in my fish pond is melting and shrinking faster than ever.
Now I can even see my biggest red coy swimming around.
A sign of life! Hallelujah!

Ice is melting

Current status of my fish pond:
As of 23rd February,  2 cm of ice melted... 20 cm to go...

I'm glad to see some water... finally...

White wine is essential but some schnapps will be even better.
Too bad we don't have any schnapps... a little Russian vodka will do.

It might be too early for semla but this dessert is perfect to wrap up a perfect evening. Yum!

DPS Assignment: Fresh Start

2012 - Dare to try
Planking is really not my thing... I admit.
On the other hand, I have always wanted to have a floating banana shot but never got to do it.
So, for this week's assignment, I've decided to try out things that I've never done before.
Here you go... a floating me... hahahahahhha!
Silly but definitely a good fresh start for me.

Would really love to take this horizontally... unfortunately I love the woods background too much.
